gift of bedding

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

A friend just recently had her baby baptized and I was one of the lucky sponsors :) Actually, it was a surprised invitation for my side because apparently, the invitation card that she sent to me wasn’t able to arrive, so I wasn’t able to prepare well. But, good thing, there are already so many things in my mind when it comes to baby gifts! Since I am one of those who favored PINK & BROWN color combination, thanks to Aggie and Glo for the inspiration, it has been my frequent theme, for my blogs and other templates and yes, even to my dear daughter’s Baptism party last 2007 as well. Anyways, back to baby gifts, I was able to snag super cute baby bedding from the mall, a day before the baptism party, and it was something like this…

super cute isn’t?! my mom who was with me when I was buying couldn’t help but get some for her dear grand daughter as well :D
Before I end this post, let me share with you some of the designs that I like from the baby bedding market site that I truly heart! everything is dainty looking right! perfect for the little princess! :D

birthday gifts - 1st part

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Dear daughter and mom’s birthday is just a few days away, since my dad will be going back to work a day before Olin’s natal day, we decided to have a family dinner with our relatives. Though the original plan was to eat at a buffet restaurant, the last minute we had to cancel because one of the kids are not feeling well, so we just opted for a take out at the nearby restaurant, we may not enjoy a nice restaurant ambiance, but the company and the foods were the best! - and it deserves a separate post ;)

But for now, as my  blog post title say - gifts part 1.. then here are the gifts my darling daughter from her cousins, something they bought from their own money and wrapped with love and effort! I sooo love them - for loving my daughter just like their sister! :D

ianna's and stephanie's gift

We were surprise to see this very huge wrapped gift -made of manila paper and doodled with flowers by the cousins :D

party items - check!

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

And so I already got these cheapy items from a nearby party kiosk yesterday, some are from TK actually, but I noticed that Dora themed ones are so limited that is why I still had to opt for other items, well It’s really ok because it’s just a party-party-han after all. No fuss or anything if not everything are uniformly themed. :D I’m also done with the cake ordering, DH will just have to pick it up on the 25th after lunch time. So next to do are list down some of the merienda foods my mom and I will prepare for our more or less 10 relatives guests (mostly kids!)

Can’t help but share

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Let me just share with you some snaps of my daughter while pole dancing! lol.. before we hit the weekend and before everyone gets so busy again so many stuffs to finish. Like me, I still have tons of photos to share here, but for the meantime, this set are one of her funniest! She dances so well that she can imitate RR or is Saisy of Wowowee with her pole dancing antic! lol

Anyways, you might notice her alice crocs is way too big for her, funny but you know, she likes it so much eh, so we let her wear it :D

Birthday Checklist

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Since we wouldn’t have a big birthday bash party for the little girl, we were just going to give her a Dora Cake for her to blow with her cousins and will ask my mom to help me cook pasta and fry crispy fried chicken for the kids and few relatives. But of course, even if they are so konti, I wonder what games will I let them play so they wouldn’t get bored and still feel the birthday ambiance after the candle blowing… so here are my lists to get and accomplish before her 2nd birthday:

  1. order for the dora cake - I snag some designs from the internet and the husband and I are still deciding which design to choose.
  2. buy some DIY balloons and 6 party hats, few loot goodies too.
  3. Buy new play mat (the huge ones) for the play area of my parent’s house
  4. List down and buy ingredients for the menu

There, I only have few to do’s pala! I hope to finish this all by next week!

DDA: 12.07 — Fun Ranch Experience

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

As mentioned in my post here, we had a day of fun at Westgate two Sunday’s ago. And since my blog post was bitin, here is the continuation of Olin’s day of fun at Active Fun play place. Boy, it was so big! I had to accompany the little brat all over the place! She particularly made a hit at the ball pool, where she plunged without fear just like the other older kids do.

She was likes trying her luck with stairs and anything that has to do with going to the second and third level of the play area! I was uberly tired from all the following and making enter the tunnels, afraid that she might direct herself to the slides and hurt herself…

walang katakot takot by you.

This is one of my favorite area, where I can sit and rest for a while while she plays with the letters and numbers without worrying all the akyatan and slide-an.. hehehe. Imagine I was holding my camera and my bag while making sunod to all her whereabouts! It was tiring! But the two of us were happy!

And yes, she got tired too after some 45 minutes of non stop running and akyatan and slide-an and suotan wherever.

But she can’t be stop! After recharging herself, she’s back with vengeance and tried the bigger slides! By the way, I had to slide too! because we found ourselves facing the big slide and we have no chance of going back because a lot of kids are already lined behind us. So imagine Olin on my lap while we slide! OMG! it was fun but risky! my camera even hit the side of the slide. demet.

And so I have a very friendly tot eh? look, she found herself an ate! :D

It was indeed a super tiring 1 1/2 hour play time but my daughter is at her happiest, so it was worth all the hingal and muscle pains the day after :D

A lot of people say that my daughter is one camera addict :D you see, she likes being photographed, a thing that she definitely got from me! Because her dad is a total opposite, he hates being flashed by cameras and being center of attention. But aside from that almost every attributes of my daughter came from him, from the food likes to the tantrum throws up of the brat, everything came from the moody husband. Now let me share with you her latest photo that I took a few minutes ago, she asked me for “picture! picture!” and I obliged.

So there I hope you have a good week ahead… will post more photos and weekend updates after I finish reading about las vegas hotel reservations that my dad asked me to look at.

Fun Ranch day

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

For the little tot. Went to Fun Ranch at Westgate Alabang last Saturday for a little unwinding, since the husband have a schedule meet up at Westgate we might as well join him, we were suppose to stay and wait for him at ATC but we realized that Active Fun is already open so we decided to give it a try! Lunch at the Big Red Barn was good too, we had calamari and fried chicken,  love the honey mustard dip and the gravy too. And it took us a while to finish everything because the servings were huge man! And the service was great too. A bit pricey, but worth it.

crispy calamari by you.

After resting a bit and while Olin was busy doodling, (by the way, the server were uber nice to Olin that she gave her a new set of colors!) I, on the other hand read the flyers about Sebo vacuum cleaners that somebody gave me while entering the place, I also read their party rates leaflets.

The husband went back to his meet up with friends and left us at the Fun Ranch while I drown myself with the bottom iced tea! lol. Since there are still so many kids playing at the activity area, we waited for a little bit before I signed her in (ourselves in, actually) since Olin has to be accompanied by an adult. Will do another post about that. I just have to finish uploading photos and other stuff in the house :D

Heirloom to start

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized
The husband was able to get our daughter a huge and quite expensive Christmas present as early as last week, he wanted to have it ready so no need to rush during the Holidays for the shopping and all. But I on the other is still clueless on what to give my little precious, my mom suggested to give her a jewelry, gold preferably instead of toys and clothes.  It was a nice idea actually, which makes me look for sites that makes designer costume jewelry that has a classic yet stylish look. And then I found myself browsing at
www. Holstedjewelers.com and honestly, I so love their unique jewelry designs! their craftsmanship are so detailed, I’m sure everyone will appreciate their products!
14K Yellow Gold Oval Portrait Pendant
And speaking of their nice jewelry is this gold oval pendant! which is amazingly cheaply priced for a 14k gold, its just around $215! not bad right?  imagine an heirloom your about to start when you gave this special pendant with a picture of the person special to you. I’m sure this will look great on my daughter! Can’t wait to inquire for this one. I still have time, even if it has a 4 weeks delivery lead time. :D

WS: Baptismal Cuppies

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Here’s my weekend snapshot entry..  Our yellow gold themed baptismal chocolate cupcake :) Which my daughter loves! It surprises us actually, because it has been ages that we are baking and making pastries but she wasn’t that interested, she doesn’t like chocolates that much. But with our latest creation, she loved it! She was able to finish two cuppies! good thing, we were able to produce more than the order quantity plus the fact that she can eat as much as she want without needing those fat burner pills and all!  :)

We are parents! {again}

Meet our bunso… Sasha, the baby Cockatiel bird :) She is so fragile and yes, young. She even needs to be hand fed and cared for like an infant for two more weeks. As expected, our daughter super loves her new pet! that she keeps on approaching the cage and talks to Sasha :D super cute!

This bird makes our second pet, the other one is Moogy a pit bull who is super sweet which if you see him doesn’t fit his appearance, he’s really freaking scary! the big body and huge head?! men, he can really torn your body into pieces, just looking at his teeth you’ll get those goose bumps all over. But as I’ve said, he’s really a tamed dog :) he likes to play with our neighbor’s dogs! In fact when the husband walks him, you’ll see him stopping by the other stray dogs, but those who doesn’t know him will end up running away, super scared! By the way, the husband got him a Control flea treatment the other day because he wanted to make sure that we wouldn’t have to worry about Fleas and ticks. He happens to read a lot of good stuff about using such products even if your pet doesn’t have one. Prevention is always better than cure right?

So anyways, back to the bird, I will be posting a more photos of Sasha and how we feed her through a syringe next time :D

Mac and Cheese

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Are you going to cook for Christmas? Because I am! Actually, I’ve been collecting food and recipe magazines as early as now that has yummy recipes good for the holiday feast. And yes, I also been watching cooking shows and taking down notes of the recipes and the how to’s. Intrigue with the easy green bean recipes  I might try one this weekend and see if it will do good for the Christmas table. I really wanted to impress the whole family with my cooking galore, thats why I’m gearing up! *wink* Let’s see if I’ll excel on cooking too just like my dear mom who really cooks well! But if everything else fails, I’d probably resort to cooking and preparing a simple Macaroni and Cheese dish! :D

Toy Hunt : Fluffy

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

This is Monty, a puppy dog stuffed toy given to Olin by her ninang  Rachel last march, a pasalubong from her actually (she’s working in a cruise line {just like my pop} based in Europe, yeah, I know, cool isn’t?). Anyways, she heard that Olin fancies dogs during that time (when she was 14 months) so she gave her this… and the little one super likes it!  And yep, she still sleeps with her doggy by her side :)

Anyways, we happen to see a larger version of Monty at Duty Free Shop which is super expensive! No way in the world will I ever buy something like that can equals the cost of a nice laptop :D Although  my daughter adores the biggie dog, we just opt to take a picture of it with her …

WS: Boo!

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

How was your Halloween? Well, for us we had a blast! we brought the kids (my daughter and my two nieces) at SM Bacoor for the yearly Trick or Treating and Halloween costume contest, it was Olin’s second year actually, last year she was a little pumpkin and this year she goes to be a very cute and charming Butterfly princess!

We (together with my mom and sis) arrived at the mall lunchtime to meet up with my cousin and the kids, after we all ate we then proceeded to register the kids for the contest, well, we just wanted to get the loots and have some moment of stardom (we are not really hoping to win or anything) aka exposure! anyways, while the others are still in line at the registration area, the host announces that mall wide stores/shops are already open for the trick or treaters, so we then went out with the kids for the trick or treating hops… for two hours! my goodness we, the adults were oh so tired! but the  kids? they were still hyper as ever! they just simply love what they are doing! hopping from one store to another asking for candies and some other goodies! it was chaos! there were so many kids in full costume! but that deserves another post since I’ve took a lot of photos of kids in their awesome halloween costumes.

So there, after the trick or treating we then headed at the lower ground floor where the contest venue is located, and waited our time to come up on stage for the judges to see our little kiddos in costume! of course, stage mommy ako, I came up with Olin… kasi she doesn’t want to be put down during the time we were nearing the stage na, natakot ata sa voice nung host at nung mga ibang naka costume near the stage.. :) so like last year, stage mudrax ang drama ko! hahaha! so what ba diba? paki ko? eh sa gusto namin ang exposure mag ina eh! ahahahaha!

And yes, as expected we didn’t win… but it was ok, kasi those who won naman were talagang bonggang bongga ang costume and all! the winners for the fantasy theme (where Olin and my nieces fall under the said category)  came to be as DYOSA, with all the feathers and wide spread wings and all the works! At talagang tipong magwawala ang parenthood ng mga chikiting na iyon pag di sila ang nanalo-effect! ganun kinarir, ‘ika nga.  Yun Na! .

And yeah, she came home with candies and other stuffs too, but of course it was me and my sister who ate it all! bwahahaha! dinner at KFC afterwards and some Christmas decor shopping and candles for the following day All Saint’s day activity at the cemetery before we head home. Uber tiring the day was, but lots of photos and memories for Olin to look back when she grows up! makikita nya how super kikay her mom was and how supportive her Tatay, grandma and Ninang Tita was :D

Let’s Get Busy, Baby!

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

My daughter checking her new Little Touch cartridge… Actually I had to keep this for some time before letting her play with it, since she’s just starting with the other Big Bear cartridge, so she wouldn’t get confuse or anything. But during the weekend, I found her so bored and getting cranky so I decided to let her play with it! And yes, she loves it so! as expected…

Do you notice the soft touch of the photo? you see, I got so inspired with Alpha’s way of taking photos, no flash at all but super detailed and really nice, so what I did was test my drive and see if I can actually do shots without the help of my flash, just the real light from the window.. and here is one of many that I took! not bad eh?

I was doing this while the husband is busily cleaning our light fixtures! We have different things to attend to you see? :)

PPBC 9 Call For Articles: Birthdays!

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Doc Joey came up with this topic for PPBC! It made me realized about my daughter’s upcoming second birthday, to party or not is the question right now… anyways, before I continue with my reading about movers New York let me just blurb here my daughter’s First birthday bash last January.

What can you say about birthdays? Did you celebrate your kid’s birthdays with a big bash? Or a trip? Or just a simple celebration at home?

:: I definitely love birthdays and celebrations! this much better if we have unlimited moolah to spend!

:: We celebrated my daughter’s first birthday with a bash, not that ‘big bash thing’ but we kept a budget layout so we wouldn’t have to go over board with the expense. It was a happy celebration, I must say. Successful! you can view the party details and supplier ratings HERE (PART 1) and HERE (PART 2)

Was there anything significant that happened during your kids’ birthday?

:: Everything was memorable, things happened according to what my husband and I planned. It was a blast! The kids truly enjoyed every single moment of it, games, prizes and the magic shows. Don’t forget the delicious food that my mom make sure to be overflowing, she cooked additional viands to add with the catered ones.

Were you happy about how your kid’s birthday celebration went?

::  Oh definitely!

Any special memories?

:: Everything was memorable and special

Any other thoughts?

:: I should have hired a face painter though… it was really fun pala! :)
