flicks for the oldies

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

My daughter and I were on our way from the church earlier when we happened to pass by the little flea market near the town’s plaza and saw line of shops selling pirated dvd and cds. I can’t help but wonder how this illegal stuff can still continue business even if almost everyday news about raids of illegal dvd sellers just about everywhere in the country. And what’s really bothering is the fact that they are off showing those adult movies on their racks or shelves! It was as if shouting to by passers, attracting attention even the innocent ones. Too bad isn’t? And mind rocking for those who care for the youngsters, and I doubt it if those sellers deny sales to their minor customers. Anyways, I wonder how this sellers get to hold of those even indie movies that are categorize as adult flicks and even x-rated. Though I heard about this Adult TV like Apple TV that can be purchase and access by just about anyone who has an internet connection and television unit of course. One of the easiest way to get rated flicks the legal way! No need to buy from those illegal sellers and law abiders. If that can really justify the need for such flicks.

shower chair

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

This coming Christmas, I’m already thinking of getting one of those shower chair for my grandmother, which I’m sure she’ll truly love and appreciates. I heard that she is already having a hard time taking a bath even a quick shower is a heavy task for her already. Thus making my aunt requests us (the grand children) to give the great mom a chair for her shower time. Well anyways, that is why, I’ve been frequently visiting sites that offers affordable stuff like it, hoping for their grand sale whatever before I do make the purchase. But actually,  already consider the idea of ordering from allegro medical, from all the raves they got from their customer… they are indeed the remarkable one! :)

time check

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Time check: 3:26am - and yes, I am still up and awake doing my online tasks… thanks to my milk tea for keeping me alert! :D Well, it’s not that the tasks that I’m doing are supposed to expire but I just want to finish them ahead of time so no cramming mode from me and the fact that I am anticipating more work loads in the next coming days (yep, power of positivity!). So there, will hit the sack in a while, will just submit and do fillers for the other sites in a jiffy!

Toddlers and their Table manners

Posted by kathy - Under: Uncategorized

Begin with the idea that mealtimes are pleasant and that good behavior makes them more fun for everyone. Talk with your preschooler about the importance of good manners, and encourage him to think of himself as a polite person. Set realistic expectations, then gently reinforce them until they become habit.

What can I teach him at this age?

Your child isn’t ready for the finer points of well-mannered dining (such as which fork to use for the cake), but he’s old enough to start learning and even perform the basics — depending, of course, on whether he’s just turned 2 or is approaching kindergarten age.

Some behaviors to teach and encourage at this age:

•  Hand washing before coming to the table

•  No toys at the table.

•  No throwing or grabbing food

•  No banging utensils

•  No spitting food out

•  No yelling or running around the room while others are eating

•  Saying “please” and “thank you”

•  Using utensils instead of fingers when appropriate

•  Asking to be excused at the end of the meal (a nice touch is to teach him to thank the person who prepared the meal)

•  Clearing dishes from the table to the sink or counter (if the path is clear and the dishes are replaceable)
